1/7/2012 - Light the Night Series Rail Jam

Shredders and Park Rats of all ages, join us for the first event of the Light the Night series. Okemo will be throwing some light on Bull Run while competitors throw some tricks on the rails outside of the Sitting Bull starting at 5 p.m. Don't miss your chance to win a chunk of over $1000 in cash plus tons of other prizes from RAMP, Swany, and more. Plus, earn those points for the opportunity to take home a cool $1500 as series champion. After party at The Killarney in Ludlow. Registration is open to skiers and riders of all ages and will take place from 3-5 on the day of each event and well be kicking off the show at 5. The cost will be $15 per event, or register for all 3 for just $40! Helmets are required for all competitors and participants under 18 will need a parent or guardian signature. 1/14-20/2012 - Okemo Celebrates National Safety Week

Winner of the Best Helmet Safety Program - Heads Up National Ski Area Safety Awards. Fun and educational activities focus on safety and awareness on the slopes with children's clinics, safety messages and helmet demos. Starting Jan. 16 and running through Safety Week, anyone who purchases a new ski or snowboard helmet at Okemo's Snowsports Shop will receive a coupon for 50 percent off a full-day lift ticket, or 50 percent off a full-day equipment rental or high-performance demo, or 50 percent off a group lesson or specialty clinic. Some of the week's highlights include Okemo's "Helmet Head" contest, a visit from Vermont's own PHAT (Protect Your Head at All Times/Protect Your Head on All Terrain) team and a Safety Scavenger Hunt.

1/14/2012 - Cabot Cheese Sampling

Come out and enjoy some of the world's best cheddar produced by Vermont's very own Cabot Cheese. A special Cabot Cheese infused item will be on the menu all day long at the Sitting Bull Restaurant in the Main Lodge (make sure to check out the specials board). Cabot Cheese sampling will also take place in the Ticket Plaza of the Main Base. The exit sampling will take place from 1:30-4:30pm, so stop by and try some of Vermont's #1 cheese - Cabot Cheese!

Okemo's showing off for the Holiday weekend. Prior to the spectacular fireworks show at 7:30 p.m., visitors can enjoy a winter warmer in the Sitting Bull, located in the Okemo Clock Tower base lodge.

Better yet, get your neighbors involved and take on their family in a timed challenge! Registration in the base lodge from 8-10am, racing from 11-2, and awards at 3pm in front of the Sitting Bull. Parents must sign to register kids under 18, helmets are required. Open to skiers and boarders of all ages and ability levels"

The Winter Gatorade Free Flow Tour is the official amateur series of the Winter Dew Tour. In its third season, the Winter Gatorade Free Flow Tour will search the country's premier mountains, giving top ams the once-in-a-lifetime chance to go from 'Flow to Pro'. Skiers and riders are invited to compete in slopestyle on Saturday and pipe on Sunday. About Okemo Mountain Vermont Ski Resort Area

Rising above the village of Ludlow, in south-central Vermont, Okemo Mountain Resort is a four-season playground that built its reputation for quality and superior guest service as a winter retreat for skiers and snowboarders. Originally a small community-run ski hill, Okemo began to blossom when, in 1982, Tim and Diane Mueller purchased the ski area and transformed it into a popular, world-class resort destination. Tater Hill Golf Club: Just a short drive away from Okemo Valley Golf Club, Tater Hill Golf Club is a historic, engaging championship course in the heart of southern Vermont. With new tee boxes, an enhanced course maintenance program and six greens redesigned in 2005, Tater Hill is just as challenging as it is beautiful.

Course Layout: Birch-lined fairways, stone walls, scenic mountain vistas and breathtaking flower gardens serve as the dramatic backdrop for the par 71, 18-hole course layout. Measuring 6,400 yards in length, Tater Hill is situated in a pastoral setting with rolling hills and undulating fairways. Moderate elevation changes provide plenty of challenge for low handicaps, yet the course is playable for all ability levels. Nature is a star attraction at Tater Hill with birdhouses, wetland areas, magnificent flower gardens and tree-lined fairways. The course has recently undergone significant capital improvements, with six newly designed greens that made their debut for the 2005 golf season, along with increased services and amenities for the members and guests.

The Maples Disc Golf Course: Play 9 holes, or a challenging 18 on The Maples - our new and distinctive disc golf course, inspired by the tradition of the maple sugaring process in the Okemo Valley. The convenient course layout circles the Jackson Gore Inn with tee markers highlighting the history of maple sugaring in Vermont.

The natural wood of the targets represents the trunks of the sugar maples, Vermont's state tree, which are tapped to draw out the tree's sap. The galvanized tubs and sap buckets are actual tools used to collect sap from those taps in the spring when daytime temps begin to warm, but the mercury falls below freezing at night.
